Oasis Counseling and Psychiatry is accredited with the Better Business Bureau with an “A+” and received the Best Psychiatry in Corpus Christi Award. Mrs. Wilson was a faculty member at Texas A&M University, College of Nursing, where she was a psychiatric clinical instructor for four years. She has worked in psychiatric offices, the Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center of Nueces County, TX, NASA, Baltimore Courthouse, several prisons and forensic deployments during 12 years of active duty service in the Navy. She has obtained the prestigious position as Editorial Reviewer for The Journal of Forensic Nursing.
With her exposure to diverse populations in both military and civilian arenas, she offers a unique skill set when providing evaluation, therapy, and medication management for all adolescent and adult mental health disorders. With over 20 years experience in various medical settings, she is considered an expert in her field and astute clinician among colleagues who work in mental health. She has gained expertise working and training in inpatient hospitals, military facilities, public assistance for severe and chronically mentally ill, prisons, and outpatient clinics. She is referred to by general practitioners, psychiatric hospitals and psychiatrists in south Texas. Mrs. Wilson has numerous professional publications in the areas of psychiatry and forensics. Further, she has been recruited to speak at a variety of national medical and psychiatric conferences. She has worked with NASA and provided humanitarian health care in Uganda and Morocco.

Jessica Plichta Wilson obtained her B.S.N. degree in Nursing with Honors from Wright State University in Ohio and her Master of Science as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Clinical Specialist from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where she received the 2005 Psychiatric Nursing Clinical Excellence Award. University of Maryland is rated in the top ten Advanced Practice Nurse programs in the country.
Her psychiatric training consists of a two-year clinical with course work in the field. With an additional year of education for certification as a Legal Nurse Consultant, she has accomplished completing seven years of university work, earning four degrees. Jessica is licensed in the state of Texas to provide care as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She is board certified for both specialties (Psychiatric NP and Clinical Specialist in Psychiatry) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is DEA and DPS licensed to prescribe medications. Further, is trained in providing various modes of therapy.
